Start your day at the famous Lamin Lodge, beautifully located among the mangroves. Enjoy a coffee, tea or soft drink while learning about the mangrove ecosystem, fishing and everyday life along the Gambia’s waterways. If you wish, a short boat trip through the mangroves can also be arranged.

Continue to Makasutu Culture Forest, where a local guide will take you on a walk through the forest and mangrove areas. Discover local plants, traditional customs and the way of life of the people living in this area. With a little luck, you may spot monkeys and a variety of bird species. A short canoe trip is also possible.

After a delicious local Gambian lunch, we visit the impressive Elephant Tree, a peaceful spot to enjoy nature and take some beautiful photographs. The day continues with a short visit to a local village, giving you a genuine glimpse into everyday Gambian life.
